Round the world…

Round the world…

25 March 2023 Off By The Wolvercote & Wytham Midsummer Festival Committee

Phileas Fogg took 80 days. The Wolvercote and Wytham Midsummer Festival aims to make the same journey round the world in just ten (16 – 25 June). How will we do this? By this year’s theme – Round the World.
Amazingly, one in every four locals was born outside the country, coming into our community from every continent on earth (except Antarctica!). Imagine what a wealth of cultures and experiences we have to share, and how much we can learn from each other.
The Festival committee has been hard at work mapping out the events. The full programme will be shared on the village website at www.wolvercote.org/festival
Watch out for the latest news on the Wolvercote & Wytham Facebook page. But be assured that favourite events for all ages, like Fun on the Green, the Community Market Food Fest, Music Night and the Church Fete, are back.
With the cost-of-living crisis biting, it’s great to know that all events, except the Music Night, are free, although donations are always welcomed to cover unavoidable costs. Every year, the Committee aims to share any surplus with local charities. Last year, 11 groups
received modest donations, including Asylum Welcome, Ukraine Friendship Hub, OxSwift, the Flying Goose and three organisations supporting toddlers and young people. The full list is on our website.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
