Meet the new Head at Wolvercote School

Meet the new Head at Wolvercote School

Before I introduce myself I would like to say a big thank you to the community of Wolvercote for welcoming me so warmly into your midst!
I have worked in schools for 20 years, beginning my career as a dinner supervisor when my daughter was very small. I worked for a few years as a Teaching Assistant and 121 SEND support before completing my teacher training on the job. Since then I have worked in three different schools ranging from 3 to 1 form entry, working my way up to Assistant and then Deputy Headteacher.
Just over a year ago I moved to Oxford and began looking at moving schools. I went to look at several schools in the area, walked around, spoke to children and staff and then walked away. When I came to visit Wolvercote, walking through the corridors felt like coming home. The atmosphere of warmth and welcome and the smiles from all the children and staff made it impossible to walk away and it was with great delight and gratitude that I accepted the position of Headteacher a couple of months later.
Wolvercote is a very special place to teach and is already doing great things for the children of the community. I plan to build on the success and stability of the past and continue to develop provision to ensure all of our children have the best possible
academic and personal outcomes.
